Adam Borics remained undefeated at Bellator 222 on Friday night at the expense of super prospect Aaron Pico, who suffered his second straight knockout loss.

The end came at 3:55 into the second round after Borics uncorked a spectacular flying knee that blasted Pico and sent him crashing to the mat after dominating the majority of the fight to that point. It marks the second consecutive knockout loss for Pico and the second time Borics has earned a win in Bellator with that same flying knee.

After being criticized for not using his wrestling much during the first six fights of his career, Pico turned to his grappling to put Borics on the mat, which is where he stayed for the majority of the fight.

Pico showcased the kind of wrestling that made him an Olympic hopeful at just 19 years old and it appeared he was cruising towards a victory.

That all changed after Borics was finally able to work his way back to the feet and get some separation from Pico with less than two minutes remaining in the second round.

With Pico setting up another takedown attempt, Borics timed a flying knee attack that demolished the 22-year-old featherweight and sent him crumbling in a heap down to the canvas.

Borics followed up with a few more shots as the referee rushed into stop the contest and rescue Pico from taking any further damage.

It’s the second time in three fights where Borics has used that same flying knee to end his opponent’s night.

The knockout moved Borics to 13-0 in his career while Pico dropped to 4-3 overall while suffering his second straight knockout loss as the highly touted prospect continues to struggle to find his footing since making the move to mixed martial arts.
